1. Texas State Chapter Meeting – Tuesday, September 13
FCS Lobby, San Marcos, TX; 6 pm – 7 pm

-We will discuss how to join, upcoming events, and introduce our officers.

2. Barkitecture Doghouse Competition – Saturday, October 1st
2nd Street, Austin, TX; 10 am – 3 pm

-ASID Texas State Chapter will be meeting at Cristi Peterson’s house in Austin to build a doghouse on the weekends leading up to October 1st.

-On the day of the competition, architects and designers will be showcasing their doghouses alongside ours, as the crowd bids on them.

3. Fall Kickoff DIY Competition and Social – Saturday, October 8
FCS Courtyard, San Marcos, TX; 10am – 4 pm

-ASID Texas State Chapter will be hosting a DIY Competition in which 5 teams will be given $25 to create decorative objects around the house.

-The decorative objects will be judged by professors for originality, functionality, and execution. They will be bid on by the audience. Proceeds will go to ASID Texas State to cover our cost for putting on the competition.

-Even if you’re not competing you can come to watch the competition, play games, eat, and hang out with friends. It’s free to enter!

-This is a great way to make new friends and practice your design skills.

4. Interior Design Boot Camp – Friday, October 14 to Saturday, October 15
Design District, Dallas, TX

-ASID Texas Chapter will be hosting a student symposium with speakers and events to help you in the real world.

-We tour design showrooms in Dallas.

-We stay in a beautiful hotel, and ASID helps pay for it.

-Registration deadline is on October 1st. $20 for members, $35 for nonmembers.

-This is an opportunity to meet practicing interior designers. Who knows? Maybe one of them will give you an internship!

-This is also an opportunity to bond with fellow interior design students.

5. RealWorld Design Week – November 6 to November 12

-No cost.

-Receive an inside look at the interior design world.

-Expand the experience into an internship of first job.
