Design Boot Camp Oct 14/15

When and where is this event?

  • The Student Symposium is Friday, October 14th and Saturday, October 15th in Dallas, Texas.

How do I register for the Student Symposium?

  • Go to http://www.asidtxstudentsymposium.org/register.html to pay for your registration. It will be $20 for members and $35 for non members. Register for every event except for the Mix and Mingle on Thursday night. This must be done by Friday, September 30th.
  • Email Stephanie Chavez at sc1467@txstate.edu to let her know you are registered. This must be done by Friday, September 30th.
  • Pay your $20 hotel deposit to the Texas State Chapter. This can be given to one of our officers as a check or cash. This must be done by Friday, September 30th.

How do I book a hotel room?

  • We will be arranging the hotel rooms for you.  To keep costs down, we will be staying 4 to a room.
  • There will be a room fee of $20/person, paid to TxState ASID.
  • If for whatever reason you cannot attend the event, and it is after October 1st, your room deposit will not be refunded. (Sorry guys.  We understand that things happen, but this has been an issue in the past.)

When is the registration deadline?

September 30, 2011.

Do I have to be an ASID member to attend?

  • No, but it is cheaper.  It’s $35 for non-member students to attend, and $20 for student members.

Will I be penalized for missing Friday class?

  • Our ID professors strongly encourage all students to attend these events.  If you will need documentation for missing a non-ID class, please email sc1467@txstate.edu and we will arrange for Professor Dedek to write you a letter.

Will I have to drive to Dallas on my own?  Do I have to bring a car?

  • You will more than likely NOT need a car in Dallas.  But, if you wish to bring your car, then please do.
  • We will be arranging several carpools to leave for Dallas the day before the event.
  • More information will be available as we get a more complete list of attendees.
  • If you would like to be a carpool driver, then make a note in your email to sc1467@txstate.edu.
